No7 Pop and Glow

Image
I have been intrigued by these products since the word go, and I knew it was only a matter of time that I would find myself at the boots counter. In fact I ended up in town at 3 o'clock on a sunday afternoon to get these. There was a Radiance Highligher, bronzer and four blushers. I decided to get the highlighter and the new blusher shade watermelon. Mainly because there was a buy one get one half price on which I quite liked the look of.  So the blusher... I love the shade, its a lovely raspberry colour, and is easy to apply, its very bright so only a small amount is needed, I use my fingers to blend it in or a duo fibre brush.  I love the packaging, as its kind of like a large lipstick and i find its far more interesting than a normal blusher pallet. The last- ability of this is extremely good and I enjoy wearing it. I think although this is really bright it does blend into a  natural look.  The Radiance Highligher, now at first I wasn't to sure, it lo

Mac Fluidline Brow Gelcreme

Image
Ive been after a Brow Gel Creme for a while. Sadly Illamasqua only has one shade which I think may be too dark for me. As much as I want an Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade product, it seems like hassle and I can't view the product in the flesh etc. So I landed in Mac... by the brow products. Wondering what to buy and what shade to get. In the end the sales assistant kind of just told me to buy dirty blonde. Which I did.  Mac Fluidline Brow Gelcreme  Now the actual product is a dream. Like I love it. More than cake and sweets. It stays put all day and really easy to apply. Even if you are new to making your brows look as big and defined as possible I would say its great for newbies. I used a fine angled brush, and a thicker one to blend the product out. But that is just my personal preference. Its build-able so if you want to create ombre brows and a more defined arch its up to the job. A little of this product goes a long way though which is always a bonus.

Bleach London DIY Dip Dye

Image
Since the fashion of Dip dye and Ombre hair first came about, my hair was far to short to pull it off and if I'm honest I still think its a little on the short side to bask in the glory of Ombre locks. However I really wanted to give the ombre look ago before it was uncool. So here I am. Now I asked the world of twitter for their advice, some people came back to me with the Loreal Wild Ombre kits, while others came back that a simple highlighting kit would do the trick. While this twitter chat was happening, a hair mask ( named the reincarnation mask) by Bleach London  came up which I was intrigued to try...so off to boots I went. I intended to buy the hair mask and some sort of highlighting kit. I got to the Bleach London stand, I found the mask and was about to go on my merry way when I saw they did the dip dye kit. I had a feeling that because they seemed in the know with all the pastel colours they had on show that this product would be the best bet, and while i hovered

Empties post

Image
Ive always wanted to do an empties post, and I've  finally accumulated enough empty products to do so. (Wahoo!) Garnier Micellar Water I got this in Early May/ Late April, mainly because everyone was talking about it and I wanted a piece of the action! I love this water. On the back it says you get 200 uses out of it, which on reflection I probably have had near that amount - using it twice a day morning and night. Garniers Micellar Water does an extremely good job of removing Gel eyeliner and mascara. I have been pretty impressed with this product and would definitely buy it again. It would be good if they did mini ones for weekends away etc though. Benefit Bad Gal Lashes Mascara Right so, I first experienced this a while back (maybe over 2 years ago) as a free sample from Glamour magazine and thought it was amazingggg! I then asked for some for christmas as I didn't know what else to ask for. Since then I've had a love hate relationship with it. It j

Sudocrem - Skin Care Cream

Image
Ok so I know what you're all thinking, isn't Sudocrem* what you put on babies bums? Well Folks this cream is a growing skin care cream and many celebrities swear by it.  Since using this the skin  on my face appears clearer and brighter. When I first began using it, I was using too much and I was left with some what greasy skin, I don't know if this would happen to everyone, but my skin just didn't like the thickness. I decided to use only a tiny bit and only in the places  I had problems with, this cream got rid of any blemish or spots I had in a night, which is pretty good.  Ive also found it handy for day to day annoyances from small grazes to nail hangs.  I love how the packaging is small enough to pop into your make up bag or hand bag. The amount of product you get is 30g and easy to dispense. I've seen the tubs that it comes in and was always slightly put off due to the un practical packaging, so the tube is a great improvement!  Have you trie

London trip feat Topshop

Image
On Saturday I took a quick trip to London and although there was the thought of not spending any money we all knew that I would buy something, I also found a whole host of things which I need/want.  So this little beaut was in the Topshop sale I wanted it when it first came out but for the full price of £40 I was slightly put off. I first saw the blue version they did  and then found this orange one in my size hidden else where. I love the colours in this playsuit. It's also a great length not to short not to long!  Next up. Is this.. I love head dresses and although this is the first one I've bought I do spend hours looking at them. I just be-grudge spending over £20 for them. This one I've had my eye in for a while I got it from accessorize and it was meant to be £22 but since it has been in the sale, I finally got it for 70% off which meant it was a mere £6.60. I love this so much even if it is a little big for my head!  And now on to my wish list which if I'm honest

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

Image
I am extremely dubious when to comes to BB and CC creams. When ever I gave one ago I have hated it. With a passion.  I don't know why but all the formulas I have tried just ended up oxidising on my skin and going really orangey. However while the English heat wave was in full swing I needed something a little better than my tinted moisturiser but not as heavy as my Foundation. As Bourjois seem to be pulling out amazing products on a regular basis I thought, I would give the CC cream one more chance. So off I went and got Bourjois' 123 Perfect CC cream in Light Beige. If it wasn't summer I would have definitely picked up the lightest shade, but luckily for me I am rocking a tan (a base tan at that!) So anyway on with the product review. Firstly, this product is extremely runny, if you have swatched/tried/have Mac face and body, it is similar to that. I don't really mind this but, it can be messy if you over squeeze the tube as you get more product out than you

July Favourites

Image
Now I never thought I would say this but, how fast has July gone?!? It only seems like yesterday I was packing my stuff up from uni to go home! Madness.   Unless you've been living in a cave recently then I'm sure you are all aware of this crazy hot summer we are having. If its not hot where you are move to the Isle of Wight. I honestly cannot remember a summer lasting more than 2 weeks. With that in mind my favourites seem to be those which wont over load my face with product.     Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream     I love this it gives a good even coverage with the added bonus of a 15SPF. I got the shade Light Beige, had it been winter I would have got the palest colour, but with my tan glowing I thought I better go up one shade. This has 3 colour pigments in it Green to cover red areas, Peach/Apricot colour to hide signs of fatigue and White to hide those dark areas. With this I can actually get away with not wearing any concealer or under eye concealer so

Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadows

Image
Eyes Like Angels * is a gorgeous brightly coloured palette by Make up Revolution. This palette comes under the Ultra Eyeshadow Palettes and there is another one named Flawless (more of a neutral palette). Make Up Revolution Eyes Like Angels Palette So firstly lets talk about the packaging, this is such a good quality. It comes in a Silver cardboard sleeve/case; I didn't picture this as it was just too shiny and my camera and I couldn't cope but on the back are pictures of all the colours. The packaging is the classic Make up Revolution Black and Gold colours.  I am surprised at the sturdiness of this palette. I feel I could drop this and I wouldn't have broken eyeshadow everywhere. It also comes with a mirror which is the size of the case, you can actually see what you're doing in it! You know when you get an eyeshadow palette and the mirror is tiny and you wonder to yourself was there any need for this to put into it? It's safe to say I have not wonde

All That Glitters Mac Eyeshadow

Image
I picked this up as a 'yay Ive finished my dissertation'  present to my self. I just kept going back to it in store and it just stood out to me so I got it along with a lipstick and all the other things i bought for my self in celebration (yes I went a bit crazy and I'm now a poor blogger). However it is now a firm favourite out of my Mac eyeshadows I have.  This shadow is a Veluxe Pearl (the furthest away in the pic) so its not too glittery or frosty, it does shimmer but its a sort glow that you get from it rather than full on shimmer shine. The shade is a lovely rose gold colour, so it works well with all eye colours, the goldy works well with blue eyes and the rose works well with green and brown all in all this is a real crowd stopper and will make almost every eye pop.  This product is extremely versatile and can be used for most looks. I love it for a light wash over my eyes for day time looks. But it can also be built up and used in the corners of th

Backcomb in a Bottle

Image
I am a lover of all Umberto Giannini. However I have seen mixed reviews about this particular product. So with my curiosity killed the cat head on I went and bought a mini - figuring that I could use it up and  if I didn't like it, it was no biggie as I wouldn't have a half a can of unused product left to sit and collect dust on my shelf. But any whoo... What it claims to do - The instant texture and volume of backcombed hair... unbelievable. Spray from approx 6 inches to where you want back comb effect and jujj hair into shape as you go Now I just do know what to say about this product. It sort of does the job, but I guess its a half hearted attempt,  Maybe its my lack of hair (it is rather thin) or maybe I was just expecting to much from this product, I just don't feel like my hair has much 'backcomb' to it, and obviously not much extra volume.   It also seems to fall flat after well about half an hour. Ive tried using a little, I've

Mac Russian Red

Image
Mac Russian Red is a personal favourite of mine, it is such a lovely bright, classic red. As this has blue undertones to it, it suits the majority of skin tones.  Although its a matte lipstick it is a dream to apply, I have lady danger (orangy red) which is also  matte and I sometimes struggle to apply it and always have to use a lip brush. However with Russian Red I don't have this issue, I can use it straight from the tube or apply it with a lip brush. Its highly pigmented and can be easily built up or dressed down with a mix of lip balm.  The best part about this lipstick is that it does not bleed or feather so you can get away with not using a lip pencil, however if you want a completely polished look I would suggest getting one. The colour lasts for a good while... until you eat food and then you will have to re apply, however I only tend to top it up every 4 hours (ish). If you are looking to invest in a classic red lipstick, Russian Red will more than likely f

Battle of the Blushers

Image
Battle of the Blushers, over the last couple of weeks I've noticed that I have  a growing collection of blushers and thought I would do a rate out of 10 post of a few of my blushers (10 being the best 1 being the worst) I have a mix of different types; powder, cream, gel and liquid to be looked at!  Blushers From Left to right MAC, W7, ELF, Body shop, Illmasqua and Benfit  Illamasqua Cream Blush - Dixie  Ah I love this its like my pride and joy, the colour is a lovely coral, with a kind of dewy finish. I think I got this in a sale after christmas, and I would totally buy this again full price, as its cream you don't need to much and it is wise to start of with a little and work your way up building the colour to your desired amount. Dixie lasts all day once set with powder, but it is great to use as base blush and then use a powder blush over the top. I have a love hate with cream blushers as I do believe you can achieve amazing looks with lipsticks but
