Instagram 2015 best nine

Image
I was literally half way through doing my 'What I got for Christmas' when my best nine for Instagram was ready, once uploaded I was like ah isn't that nice my top liked pictures of 2015. Then I thought, I'm guna talk you through these pictures, cuz why the hell not?! 2015 bestnine  Top Left: These sandals I bought in an attempt to cheer myself up after a bit of an argument with my boyfriend, they were in the sale which made me happy. This also marks my blog starting to include more fashion posts.  Top Middle: This picture was from a monthly favourites review (I believe it was March favorites), I had just received my Zoeva brushes for my birthday which I still absolutely love! And finally got my hands on velvet teddy. Top Right: Who'd have thought that my boyfriend would have such good baking skills that  his cake got in to my top nine?! Every year we try and make the biggest and best birthday cake we possibly can! It tasted lush and was mana

Lime Crime Venus II Eyeshadow Palette

Image
Oh. My. God. I just don't know what to say. So Im going to tell you everything about this experience. I finally took the plunge to try Lime Crime, after lots of scandals I had been put off the brand for a long time, until Black friday came a long and I was like 'I haven't bought makeup in forever what has happened to me' and that I had gotten paid I felt it was a chance to celebrate and buy myself something. Also Instagram was to blame... god sake. I nearly bought the bundle deal that Lime Crime do, which is the original Venus and the second one, but refrained. My palettes are already way over the legal limit. (if a limit actually existed) I know in total the order came to about £28 including shipping which I didn't think was too bad. The arrival of my palette was fairly speeding (I think(it did come from america)), it took my palette 10 days to be in my arms! You do not understand how much I wanted my commute home to go faster. Anyway. It came packaged with

OOTD: Culottes

Image
At work, our christmas party was approaching and I decided instead of buying a dress for the occasion I decided to buy a pair of culottes, its something I have wanted for ages, so I thought this would the perfect time to get a pair. If it had been Summer I probably would have gotten a pair of white ones, but the pattern on this, I think would work well with all seasons. I teamed my culottes with a black bardot top. But I think a white crop, or blouse would go nicely with this or every a rusty red top! Originally I was going to wear a pair of strappy heels. but once I had tried the heels on my boyfriend suggested wearing my Lamoda boots. Which actually looked better. I teamed the whole look with my pastel blue Topshop coat, which I haven't pictured in this post. December Birchbox

Image
Ahh when your birch box lands on your doorstep. Or in this month's case, a birch bag. I was excited to receive this months because well its Christmas and anything that lands on my doorstep in this month excites me. However Im not sure how I feel about this month's birch bag. There are some really good products, don't get me wrong and the clutch bag is super cute. I just felt a meh about it. Benefit Puff off and They're Real push up liner Puff off helps to de-puff and de- bag the eye area, it most definitely is cooling on the eye and I am enjoying using it, the packaging, as always, with Benefit is gorgeous. I love that you can use this product over and under makeup, so perfect for pick me ups! They're Real Push Up Liner. I have a mild hate for this product, partly because its so hard to use (I do believe this is a marmite product though)! And secondly, I haven't spent years perfecting my gel liner skills for it to be wiped out by a push up liner... do

Lush Cosmetics Tangled Hot Oil Treatment

Image
In recent months I have been bypassing the hair care section of Lush due to a bit of a 'meh' experience with their Shampoo Bars... having said that my ex housemate used to swear by the Shampoo bars and solid conditioners, so I think those products are kind of an 'each to their own' case. Lush Cosmetics Tangled However after a few Blog and Instagram posts popped up mentioning the Hot Oil treatments I got interested. Whilst I continued to bypass the hair care section, I did cast a cheeky glance at these oil treatments a few times and finally (about 2 weeks ago). I got one. I chose the Tangled Treatment due to the fact my hair just gets so tangled... The other 2 options were damaged, (I thought this may weigh down my hair as my hair is as fine as fine can be) and Kinky which is for curly hair, of which I do not possess. Preparing the Product I was dubious about this product mainly as I don't tend to use hair oils as, again, it weighs down my hair, but I t

Lamoda Boots

Image
I resisted Black Friday for the majority of the day... that was until I saw Lamoda announce a sale. I have always wanted to try this brand but as I'm a proper tight arse when it comes to shoes. I hadn't gotten round to buying anything from Lamoda. But after a particularly rubbishy day I thought my feet need some treating asap. I bought a pair of heeled platform boots which are just looovely. I think these beauts drew me in with the different textures and materials used. Simple yet effective. Now to  the comfort of these good looking' booties. So far I haven't worn them out of the house but from my wonder round the house in them they feel extremely light. They are really soft on the inside and cushion-y. I'm pleased to say I could probably get away with wearing these with almost any of my clothes. I think this is why I'm tight with shoes... I like my shoes to be wearable with lots of different outfits not just one outfit, and in the past I have bought shoes

November Favourites

Image
How has this happened?  How the hell is it december already? It feels like yesterday that I was writing my October Favourites up. Anyway lets get cracking! Mac Stone  My first favourite product has to be my Mac Stone Lipstick! I reviewed it here , so have a little look at that if it takes your fancy. Its just a little different from my other lipsticks which makes it a favourite and its kind of in theme with the seasons?! Harry Potter I am now on book 6 of 7 (fully aware that the book in the picture is actually book 5) which makes me kind of un happy because, what will my life become when the books are over?! (I've already had the Potter film marathon last week so thats a no go) Plus side is in the 7th book the whole thing with Snape and Harry's Mother comes out and that shit is deep. Zoeva Angled Brush These brushes have come up a few times on my blog and I wouldn't be surprised if the angled brush has appeared in a monthly favourites before, but its j

Mac Stone Lipstick Review

Image
Unless you've been living under rock for the last 6 months you will know that some of the Mac lip pencils came out as actual lipsticks. Mac also released new matte shades along with the pencil to lipstick shades. But Stone and Whirl were a massive sell out... I finally got my hands on Mac Stone at the beginning of the month, after a few months of going round mac stores hopefully asking the girls if they had been restocked. The shade of this lipstick is beautiful grey, taupe colour I would possible say its kind of mushroom shade... if that makes sense? With Stone being a matte finish I can't honestly say it doesn't dry my lips out because it does a little, not drastically though. I have found that this shade doesn't last as well as some of my other matte lipsticks. I have a sneaky suspicion that because it isn't a natural shade or red colour it will appear to wear off a little quicker than other more tame shades. If you're unsure of taking the plung

Birchbox X Skinnydip London

Image
Another month, another Birchbox. This month Birchbox teamed up with Skinnydip London, a rather cool fashion accessory brand. A cute sea shell themed box arrived at my door last week and if I paid an extra £4 I would have received a Skinnydip London case. I missed the memo on the case, so I didn't get one... this is probably my own fault as I've probably not ticked a notification button or something on my Birchbox account, such a fool. But anyway enough about my idiotic behaviour, lets talk products! So Susan Featherlash Mascara (£18 full size) Promises fuller and thicker lashes. I did find that the mascara wand was a little fiddlely, I think this is down to the fact its not my usual mascara. However it did coat my lashes well and they did appear thicker, but I dont think it caught my tiny lashes. Would I buy this? probably not. Only because £18 is a lot for a mascara and I haven't fallen head over heels with it, and that I think £18 is a lot of money for a produc

Instagram Loving

Image
Instagram is most definitely my favourite social media platform, its fun, quirky and with a whole bunch of communities on there, whats not to love?! I do tend to keep my Instagram separate to my blog just as very little traffic comes from my Instagram but I thought I would do a blog post on what I post and who I love to follow on Instagram. Having studied theatrical makeup uni, Instagram is the perfect place to show off any fancy/creative makeup I've decided to post. I find putting my makeup on Instagram is the easiest way to get my work out there! Aside from this I post any beauty products I love, and when I'm feeling good about an outfit I'll pop that on there too! I don't tend to put much personal stuff on there purely because I'm quite a private person!  I can't say I have a themed account as I just can't stick to one thing! I love fashion, beauty and creativity to much to ditch half of them! However if you want to boost your followers I would advi
