BLOGMAS AND VLOGMAS | DAY 1

I am pretty excited for this, and slightly nervous, I have decided to do Blogmas and Vlogmas! Now before we all get ahead of ourselves let me just clarify that I will not be blogging and  vlogging daily. I will either blog or vlog daily. For example today it is a blogpost but tomorrow could be a vlog! (I don't even know if this makes sense?!) Anyway I'm doing something I have never done in my blogging career (LOL) to date which is putting out content on to the world wide web everyday until Christmas Day. and I'm pooing my pants a little... this is such big a commitment! Now I'm sure you are all aware of blog/vlogmas but for those that don't I shall do a quick and speedy intro to it. Basically it started over on Youtube about 5 years ago, where Vloggers would upload daily in the month of december. I guess this could be like an online advent calendar?! I'm not sure when Blogmas started but I'm guessing it kind of took off when Vlogmas did. Vloggers and B

Rimmel London's Only 1 Matte Lipstick

Image
A new generation of matte lipsticks have hit the shelves of the beauty aisles in the form of Rimmel London's The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks* which claim 'high coverage and big impact colour'  with 'a non-drying formula'. Have they hit the mark on this one? Read on to find out... Lets start with the shades, initially I was slightly concerned about the size of the shade selection, with there only being nine shades on offer. However Rimmel have done a pretty good job. There are some amazing nude shades which I think anyone could pull off. There is also a few gorgeous reds, a couple of pinks, a daring purple and a lovely wintery burgundy. Top to Bottom The Matte Factor, Look Who's Talking, Run the Show, High Flyer,Salute, Trend Setter, Leader of the Pink, Call the Shots and Take the Stage.  I think I'm slightly indifferent to the outer packaging. Although I do like that there is a strip of colour around the base of the product as this makes it so mu

Working in Retail | NEW JOB

Thats right folks, you read it correctly I have a NEW JOB which isn't in retail (finally!). However today I thought I would focus this post on working in retail, the pros and cons and what it is  like. I have had the joy of working as an assistant and a manager, I'm not sure which one is better to be honest. So what is retail like to work in? Well I'm going to be honest. It sucks. But seriously I think its probably one of the hardest jobs out there and you should never be rude to customer assistants because they aren't a punching bag.  Lets start with the Cons so then we can end on a positive. Hours . At Christmas, at weekends, late at night, early in the morning, you name an hour and you'll be working it. In retail you just work. You can forget the christmas parties that your best friend is hosting. You can hold with very bated breath when you ask for the weekend off to attend the music festival down the road. And you may as well take your holiday

Urban Decay Smoky Palette Review

Image
Hello you lovely people! Today I have finally decided to do a beauty review! Its been a long time coming and I'm really looking forward to sharing my thoughts on the Urban Decay Smoky Palette. I am fully aware UD have just released the Ultimate Basics palette but I've already have the Naked2 Basics (which I adore!) and this time I wanted to try a new palette which had a little mix of everything. If you haven't ever tried Urban Decay eyeshadows, all I can say is, you are missing out! I find with all the eyebshadow palettes I've bought from Urban Decay have been a dream to work with and I fully think even the newest makeup user would find these super easy to blend and use. In general all the shades from Urban Decay have been beautifully pigmented too. Now on to the Smoky Palette. The Smoky palette has 12 shades with a mix of matte, satin and shimmer shades. It has a double- ended brush; precision and a blender. There is all a full size mirror in the c
