Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadows

Image
Eyes Like Angels * is a gorgeous brightly coloured palette by Make up Revolution. This palette comes under the Ultra Eyeshadow Palettes and there is another one named Flawless (more of a neutral palette). Make Up Revolution Eyes Like Angels Palette So firstly lets talk about the packaging, this is such a good quality. It comes in a Silver cardboard sleeve/case; I didn't picture this as it was just too shiny and my camera and I couldn't cope but on the back are pictures of all the colours. The packaging is the classic Make up Revolution Black and Gold colours.  I am surprised at the sturdiness of this palette. I feel I could drop this and I wouldn't have broken eyeshadow everywhere. It also comes with a mirror which is the size of the case, you can actually see what you're doing in it! You know when you get an eyeshadow palette and the mirror is tiny and you wonder to yourself was there any need for this to put into it? It's safe to say I have not wonde

All That Glitters Mac Eyeshadow

Image
I picked this up as a 'yay Ive finished my dissertation'  present to my self. I just kept going back to it in store and it just stood out to me so I got it along with a lipstick and all the other things i bought for my self in celebration (yes I went a bit crazy and I'm now a poor blogger). However it is now a firm favourite out of my Mac eyeshadows I have.  This shadow is a Veluxe Pearl (the furthest away in the pic) so its not too glittery or frosty, it does shimmer but its a sort glow that you get from it rather than full on shimmer shine. The shade is a lovely rose gold colour, so it works well with all eye colours, the goldy works well with blue eyes and the rose works well with green and brown all in all this is a real crowd stopper and will make almost every eye pop.  This product is extremely versatile and can be used for most looks. I love it for a light wash over my eyes for day time looks. But it can also be built up and used in the corners of th

Backcomb in a Bottle

Image
I am a lover of all Umberto Giannini. However I have seen mixed reviews about this particular product. So with my curiosity killed the cat head on I went and bought a mini - figuring that I could use it up and  if I didn't like it, it was no biggie as I wouldn't have a half a can of unused product left to sit and collect dust on my shelf. But any whoo... What it claims to do - The instant texture and volume of backcombed hair... unbelievable. Spray from approx 6 inches to where you want back comb effect and jujj hair into shape as you go Now I just do know what to say about this product. It sort of does the job, but I guess its a half hearted attempt,  Maybe its my lack of hair (it is rather thin) or maybe I was just expecting to much from this product, I just don't feel like my hair has much 'backcomb' to it, and obviously not much extra volume.   It also seems to fall flat after well about half an hour. Ive tried using a little, I've

Mac Russian Red

Image
Mac Russian Red is a personal favourite of mine, it is such a lovely bright, classic red. As this has blue undertones to it, it suits the majority of skin tones.  Although its a matte lipstick it is a dream to apply, I have lady danger (orangy red) which is also  matte and I sometimes struggle to apply it and always have to use a lip brush. However with Russian Red I don't have this issue, I can use it straight from the tube or apply it with a lip brush. Its highly pigmented and can be easily built up or dressed down with a mix of lip balm.  The best part about this lipstick is that it does not bleed or feather so you can get away with not using a lip pencil, however if you want a completely polished look I would suggest getting one. The colour lasts for a good while... until you eat food and then you will have to re apply, however I only tend to top it up every 4 hours (ish). If you are looking to invest in a classic red lipstick, Russian Red will more than likely f

Battle of the Blushers

Image
Battle of the Blushers, over the last couple of weeks I've noticed that I have  a growing collection of blushers and thought I would do a rate out of 10 post of a few of my blushers (10 being the best 1 being the worst) I have a mix of different types; powder, cream, gel and liquid to be looked at!  Blushers From Left to right MAC, W7, ELF, Body shop, Illmasqua and Benfit  Illamasqua Cream Blush - Dixie  Ah I love this its like my pride and joy, the colour is a lovely coral, with a kind of dewy finish. I think I got this in a sale after christmas, and I would totally buy this again full price, as its cream you don't need to much and it is wise to start of with a little and work your way up building the colour to your desired amount. Dixie lasts all day once set with powder, but it is great to use as base blush and then use a powder blush over the top. I have a love hate with cream blushers as I do believe you can achieve amazing looks with lipsticks but

W7 Make up | Post Two

Image
So carrying on from my last W7 post, today I have decided to focus on 3 W7 Perfect Eyeshadows; Silver Streak, Burnt Plum and Sandy.  All these eyeshadows are shimmery ones, so I thought this would be handy to add a bit of 'something' if I was off out and in a rush.  W7 Perfect Eyeshadow - Sandy* W7 Perfect Eyeshadow So this one is a a creamy/gold shimmery colour something which you could use as a base colour, if you were going for a complete shimmer look, this comes off the pan well and you get a good amount of shimmer and colour. You could also this as a potential highlighter. W7 Perfect Eyeshadow - Burnt Plum* W7 Perfect Eyeshadow This one is my favourite out of the 3 just because its a lovely brown colour, it quite a warm brown, and its great to add a bit of shimmer to the lid if you've started with a complete matte eyeshadow look, this seems more like a brown glitter rather than a shimmery eyeshadow but none the less I love it. W7 Perfec

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer

Image
Okay, Im a bit late with this one, but I picked this up in a 3 for 2 a while back and it was the product which I got to make up to 3 because I couldn't decide what I wanted. I had heard it could be a potential dupe for Benefit's Professional, being the poor student I was I thought yes Ive found a keeper (Until the Benefit freebies came out in the June magazines!). And as I hadn't particularly liked the 'Baby Lips' I thought I would give this a try to change my views on the range.  Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser So I have used this a few times. I say a few I've owned this for well over a couple months and I don't know its seems to work for a bit but then not work, my pores aren't overly big or anything so its not a major issue for them to be erased. But it is nice to have a good base to start foundation off with. It does smooth out skin, but not to the extent of flawless, but I'm not 100% it helps my make up stay in place any longer t

W7 Makeup | Post One

Image
I was lucky enough to receive a few bits and bobs from W7 make up,  I did think of doing a massive haul and review post but thought that there was too much to go through and I still need to test drive some of the products. So today I'm going to discuss, a lovely blush and brush. Then at a later date go through the rest as you always have to have a good test of products before you can have an honest review. I was eager to try the W7 Sculpting Face Brush*  which can be found here as these have been appearing everywhere over the last couple of years and for me its one of those things you want  to buy but never seem to get round to buying it. W7 Sculpting Face Brush This brush is perfect for pretty much all powders and foundations/creams and multifunctional (win win).  The shape of the brush enables you to get right in under your cheek bones to create perfectly sculpted cheeks. I am surprised about the amount of hairs in it as its fully packed and tight. Since using it daily

Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer

Image
I recently purchased Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer in a 2 of £14.00 offer, I really shouldn't have as I am on a spending ban but it just looked so welcoming and erm happy? (I honestly think the name of this product swung it for me). So into the basket it went... When I first applied this to my skin I couldn't tell a difference and I added more  and thought well this is poo. It was only when I had finished my make up and took a picture (yes i know I'm vein) that I realised it had worked very well. Bourjois Happy Light I think as I have an Illamasqua Satin primer  ( full review here ) I was s ubconsciously  comparing it to that, however the texture and consistency of these products are at opposite scales of one another. The Bourjois one is more gelly where as the Illamasqua one is more runny - this may be why I had problems with this product first as the consistency is so much thicker compared to what I'm used too. Make up Tips and Tricks from the Trade

Image
Ive decided to compile some tips and tricks I’ve learnt in recent years and share it with all you guys.. Hope you enjoy it! Unruly Brows You’ve left your various products in silly places/put it somewhere safe for the time being (it happens) and you’ve woken up with eyebrows like your granddads… not cool. Never fear you have two options, A. grab the hair spray and eye brow comb; give the comb a little spray and wahey you have a quick fix eyebrow solution.   Or B. that clear mascara you bought for no real reason, it’s your new eyebrow gel, and the cheaper the better. Tinted Moisturiser Tinted Moisturiser You’ve found your favourite face moisturiser and your favourite foundation, yet no tinted moisturiser which fits the bill, well just mix your foundation and moisturiser together to create your own perfect blend of tinted moisturiser… For days when full coverage seems like too much effort. Eyelashes You curl them, they fall flat. You sadly look at the ey
