Jim Jams Brownies

This was probably my favourite thing I've received through my front door, Jim Jams Chocolate Spread*.

I got a chance to try the hazelnut chocolate spread and also the milk chocolate spread, personally the hazelnut chocolate spread is my favourite, only because y'know its similar to Nutella (no point beating around the bush is there?).

So whats so good about Jim Jams Spreads? Well, all their products have considerably less sugar then most spreads, their jams have higher fruit content but less sugar in them. The chocolate spread has 83% less sugar than other chocolate spreads. The spread contains Maltitol, which is a sugar alcohol found naturally in some fruit and veg, this is how Jim Jams creates their chocolately goodness, at a lower sugar content. The spreads are suitable for vegetarians and are gluten free, they are also suitable for diabetics. As the chocolate spread contains less sugar it also means it has less calories, which means you can eat twice as much!

Any way Ive put these spreads on toast, in pancakes and now I thought it was about time I branched out into baking with these spreads. Jim Jams have put recipes on their website where can make easy sweet treats. I decided to make brownies, and it was the easiest recipe to follow ever. You only need 4 ingredients, a Jar of Jim Jams Chocolate Spread, 3 eggs, 170g of plain flour and a teaspoon of baking powder. You simply pop the jar of spread in the microwave for 30 seconds and mix all the other ingredients together. Bake in the oven for 20mins at 180 degrees and you'll have yourself some lush brownies! You can also cover the brownies in chocolate spread, but I felt like it could potentially be a chocolate overload!

You can pick up these jars at Tesco, Holland and Barrett, Ocado, and Whole foods market.

See you next time my lovelies
